AMX has just announced an exciting partnership with Microsoft to deliver support for the Surface Hub within RPM. With the upcoming device driver for the Surface Hub, conference rooms utilizing this innovative device can now be set up and configured in mere minutes!
Featuring integrated cameras, microphones and speakers the Surface Hub includes an extremely responsive touch screen that allows users to easily access their content and collaborate very effectively with people inside or outside the room. It leverages its large 55” HD or 84” 4K display capabilities to deliver applications for white boarding, content sharing and presenting as well as running conferencing applications such as Skype for Business to easily integrate remote participants into the meeting. Surface Hub also includes advanced multi-touch and multi-pen capabilities that recognize up to 100 touch points with precision, allowing natural human interaction with the display for white boarding, free-flow ink drawing and execution of apps.
To simplify activities during the meeting AMX integrates Surface Hub with its proven systems for connecting and managing devices right from the conference table. With AMX HydraPort Connectivity, users can easily connect devices like Surface 3 laptops to retractable cable modules at the table and therefore easily interact with the Surface Hub.
With over 30 years of industry leading development in AV control and management technology, AMX has a deep understanding of how to integrate purpose-built collaboration systems like Surface Hub with other AV and IT systems and now through the combined expertise of AMX and Microsoft, we are excited to be able to offer you a fully unified and flawless conference room experience.
Mike Angiulo, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Devices says, “We are delighted to partner with an established AV leader like AMX to expand Microsoft’s vision of Surface Hub as a key element in a fully integrated meeting ecosystem. By leveraging AMX’s key technologies for controlling, managing and configuring meeting room systems, Microsoft now has access to a much broader portfolio of capabilities for Surface Hub."
