The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-for-profit global think tank headquartered in Washington, DC. Founded in 1962 CSIS host hundreds of collaboration sessions each year to work through and develop solutions for some of the world’s greatest challenges.

In planning their new home, CSIS faced the challenge of replacing an aging Facility with equally aging technological infrastructure. This new facility needed to be technologically modern, easy to use, have room to grow and be able to propel them through the next 50 years. In addition to having a world class look and feel, they needed to be able to support a range of conferencing needs and their staff and affiliated scholars to conduct research, analysis and develop policy initiatives.

The finished AV solution is anchored on a single, simple to use interface that could be carried throughout the facility by a single staff member to manage all of their conferences. Staffers now have the ability to walk up to a conference room and easily launch a conference using a 7” AMX Touch Panel as well as being able to access meeting support documents and media from a PC to be displayed onscreen during a presentation.

Guided by the latest green principles, this impressive 128,000 square foot facility features a two-story AMX by HARMAN-powered conferencing and AV distribution solution, multiple visitor and staff meeting rooms, modern, flexible office space to support the growing staff and state-of-the-art meeting and AV facilities. AMX @ Integrate Party

On Wednesday night we were delighted to entertain our customers at The Common Man restaurant along South Wharf.

We were full to capacity most of the night with many of our guests staying on until they had to be asked to leave!

Jazz band, The Mad Hatters, were a huge hit and as an extra treat it turned out the lead singer works in AV for one of our integrators, also a guest at the event!

The venue was impressive, the food was tasty and the drinks flowed the way they should.

The Women of InfoComm

Women of InfoComm provides a global community of InfoComm members and other professionals committed to supporting and empowering women who work in the technology and AV industry, which AMX are proud to support.

Being able to attend the very first breakfast meeting during Integrate 2015 with four of our female staff members was an honour, and being able to hear from the motivating and engaging female speakers was nothing short of inspirational.

With a relatively early start during an already busy week we were impressed to see a room filled with over 50 enthusiastic and engaged guests who were genuinely excited to be there and to see this event come to fruition. Of the very few men in attendance, three of them were from our AMX Management Team, which just goes further to confirm our sincere commitment to this worthy cause.

We thank our very own Anna Mallon for her big part in making the Women of AV movement a reality and AMX look forward to many years of future involvement in the Women of InfoComm events.  

AMX Technology Managers Forum

AMX were pleased to have the opportunity to present to our Partners in the convention centre industry immediately following Integrate.

This year’s session, facilitated by Paul Rumble from MCEC, was overwhelmingly positive, collaborative and informative, giving us good insight into the current trends and technology challenges in the convention industry.

We received some excellent suggestions which will help to shape AMX’s direction for innovative future solutions and we thank the involvement of Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Gold Coast Convention Centre and Adelaide Convention Centre.

AMX Annual Staff Conference

Our Annual AMX Australia & New Zealand Staff Conference is always a highly anticipated event that’s enjoyed by all involved and this year was no exception. With a team that has increased by 18 people since last year….and most of them women…..this made for an entertaining and interesting mix of opinions and personalities!

Held this year at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, we enjoyed a morning which included presentations from our management team, a unique and insightful panel interview with four of our respected customers and several team exercises and discussions.

In the afternoon we were faced with the tough decision of whether to enjoy a massage and some free time or an activity including Clay Shooting and Segways!

Our evening award presentations saw Maciej Nadstazik receive Rookie of the Year, Jim Maciejewski receive the Raving Fans Award and Kenyon Page receive the Kevin Chatfield #1 Award.

Dinner was a rowdy and fun affair complete with DJ and epic dance-offs that lasted well into the night!


AMX Australia Increases Focus on Key Teams

Having experienced stellar growth over the past 2 years, AMX Australia has reviewed our management structure to position us for continued growth and expansion in Australia and New Zealand.

As we embark on a new phase of product innovations and expansion of our ranges, Graham Barrett will now be focusing on Product Management and AMX’s training capability.

Peter Swanson has taken responsibility for our expanded Marketing team and end user Relationship Managers integrating with the Sales team he has led for the past 3 years. Peter’s immediate focus will be unifying these teams to provide a consistent, high quality experience to all those we service in the market. 

In order to best support these changes and the market, we are delighted to announce that Richard Nagle has been appointed Sales Manager (ANZ).   

Originally announced at AMX15 in April and taking effect this month, Richard will now lead the entire AMX Sales Team and continue to grow both the Australian and New Zealand regions.

Boasting 8 years with AMX, Richard originally joined a staff team of only 13 which now sits at 42 and growing! It's fair to say that with 20 years in the AV industry under his belt, Richard has seen a whole lot of change.

Based in Auckland, Richard has three sons, enjoys live music events and when time permits he also delves in some fishing and diving in the summer and skiing in the winter.

Richard is supremely passionate about the fusion of AV and IT infrastructures and utilising AMX technology to deliver great outcomes to the customer and is already embracing his new role with vigour!

Having a local presence in each state remains a goal for AMX and we are pleased to take a significant step closer to this with the addition of our Perth office. Our strong commitment to the region now means that we can offer even greater levels of support to our partners. 

Amit Singh, our Senior Account Manager (WA), has recently relocated his family to Perth to further cement our focus on the market, and he remains dedicated to providing best in class AMX customer service. Amit is energised by the opportunity to now work more closely with our WA partners and ultimately drive AMX’s investment, expansion and commitment to the Western Australian region.
